When we start our project, I'll send you a personalized questionnaire with everything I need to know about your project. But if you want to get started thinking about answers, the questions will probably include some of the following:

If you're not a new business just getting started, this is probably the case. Most companies have a branding guide with color codes, fonts, and other specifics that we'll need to follow for this project.

Typically my clients come to me with prewritten copy and sometimes even images. If you need content, I charge an hourly rate outside of the cost of the design.
Quite frequently in a website redesign, only the look is changing, but if the content is changing as well, let me know! It might change what we're able to do with the site architecture.
Some designs just need a tiny tweak and sometimes people are ready for a fresh start.
This helps me gauge what styles you like and what your intent is for the project.
I'm not necessarily going to stick to your favorite colors, BUT if they work with your messaging and your target market, then I'll try to work it in. And avoiding colors you hate is just good sense. It's your logo and you'll have to look at it more than anyone else!
