The Mission

Strategic Design for People Who Want to Create Change

Are you a nonprofit, or ethical business owner? Is your focus on helping other people either through your work or with the proceeds? Let’s talk!

Hi, I’m Jenn. I help nonprofits and ethical businesses reach their goals through strategic design so they can make the world a better place. That’s a mouthful but what it boils down to is wanting to leave this world a little better than we found it. Everything else is just the vehicle for change.

High Impact Inspiration

Let’s talk high impact philanthropy! Philanthropy means using your resources to do good. High-impact philanthropy means doing the most good. UPenn’s Center for High Impact Philanthropy assesses nonprofits by 2 factors:

  1. Efficiency: the percentage of donations that go to their goal
  2. Effectiveness: the end result or ultimate impact

My goal for Jenn Wells Design is to work with businesses and nonprofits to do good AND to do it as efficiently and effectively as possible. Everything I design is created with impact in mind. And at the end of each year, I donate 25% of my profits to a charity or nonprofit.

Your Goals = My Goal

My clients can expect a LOT of goals talk. Every design is goal-oriented, which means lots of questions!

  • Who is your target audience?
  • What action do you want them to take?
  • What incentive are you giving them to follow through?

After filling out the initial questionnaire (or discussing it with me by phone or video chat), I’ll take that information and do my own research. You can view the full design process here, but my takeaway for you is that I do not create designs just to be pretty. There should be a purpose behind every project, and I’ll do my best to build your design on a strategy to achieve that goal.

Little Bit of Backstory

As you may have guessed, Jenn Wells Design is the baby and brainchild of Jenn Wells. I’ve been designing since 2011, when the business started as a side gig while I finished college and worked a part time job. The evolution of the company could be said to look a little something like this: I want to be an entrepreneur -> I want to work with other entrepreneurs -> I want to work with other entrepreneurs who share our personal values.

Inclusiveness. Integrity. Giving Back.

In case you were wondering. Those values form the core of Jenn Wells Design’s business ethics manifesto, and they direct my business decisions. Your values might be entirely different, but I like to know that you have some and that you care how your organization impacts other people.
